Our Denominations

Our church belongs to three Christian denominations, reflecting our history.

Hall Green Methodist Church was founded in 1924, and is part of the Birmingham Methodist Circuit that came into being on 1st September 2011.

The Birmingham Moravian Church was founded in 1968 to formalise a growing number of Moravians from the Caribbean who had been meeting together for many years. In 1975 it merged with the former Sparkhill United Reformed Church to form the Sparkhill United Church.

There had been a Congregational Church in Sparkhill since 1902 and then in 1972 the church decided to join the United Reformed Church and so became known as Sparkhill United Reformed Church.

In 1975 the church merged with the Birmingham Moravian Church to form the Sparkhill United Church.
